Kedzie Windows supplies and installs windows for apartment buildings and multifamily properties throughout Chicagoland. We work with owners, landlords and property managers on coordinated replacement projects, phased work and new installation. Our team specializes in working around occupied units and their residents.
Turn individual complaints into a building scope
Resident reports often arrive one unit at a time. Before treating them as separate projects, organize the affected windows by building, unit and room. Distinguish repeated concerns from isolated reports, and note which windows have already been replaced. This creates a usable starting point for a building project without assuming that every unit has the same condition.
Useful notes include difficult operation, cold air reported near a window, the locations involved and any previous replacement records. A symptom is information to evaluate, not proof that every window needs replacement. Our aging-window planning guide provides a short reporting checklist.
Plan access before grouping the work
For an occupied apartment building, identify who will arrange entry and communicate with residents. Keep the unit list, the scope and the access list consistent. Note units that need a different arrangement instead of leaving them as exceptions to discover during installation.
We support property managers and owners throughout the project. A designated contact can coordinate resident communication while individual access needs are recorded against the relevant unit. For a broader checklist, see planning replacement in occupied apartments.
Building-wide and phased replacement
A project can cover the entire building or proceed through defined groups of units. When considering phases, identify what is included now and what remains for later. Record prior replacements and the intended appearance of the completed property so future phases are not planned from memory.
We also supply and install patio doors, including sliding and hinged units. Where windows and patio doors are part of the same property plan, list them separately by residence. This makes it easier to distinguish window quantities from patio-door quantities and to coordinate access for both.
New apartment construction
For a new multifamily project, include the location, project stage and planned window scope in your inquiry. If commercial space is part of the development, identify the storefront separately. We provide supply and installation together, rather than installation of customer-provided products.
Common questions
Can residents stay in their units during a building project?
We specialize in work around occupied units. Access and the practical arrangements for each phase should be coordinated with the owner or property manager; do not assume every unit will have identical requirements.
Do you work with landlords who own smaller apartment buildings?
Yes. We evaluate the project individually rather than publishing a building-size threshold. Our focus is coordinated replacement, not standalone single-window service.
Can patio doors be part of the project?
Yes. Sliding and hinged patio-door replacement can be included in a property-wide or phased plan. Tell us the approximate quantities for windows and patio doors separately.
Request an apartment-building estimate
Share the city or ZIP code, approximate quantity, number of affected residences if known and whether the building is occupied. Site visits and estimates are free. Request an estimate and we will respond within one business day.
